This is a miniature infrared transmitter. It operates at ranges up to 16 ft. and may be set for either instant release or 2 second delay. The RC-1 may also be used to activate mirror lock and bulb shutter functions. Compatible with EOS Digital Rebel XTi, Rebel XT, Digital Rebel, ELAN 7 series, Rebel T2, Ti, and K2.

I bought this remote about 2 months ago & I use it every time I use a tripod. It works wonderfully when trying to capture a shot when camera shake is not an option.
