Strengths: Excellent picture in all picture formats
Weakness: only fault is that you must cycle through input sources rather than pressing a button once on remote-this is only a problem if you use a programmable remote like the logitech harmony
As mentioned above, the picture is wonderful and have not had a problem with it not being bright enough although it does not get direct sunlight. The sound is fine through the TV's speakers but I have hooked it up to my receiver anyway. The only complaint is that you have to press the "input" button on the remote to cycle through the input sources which is only a problem with a programmable...
Strengths: Clarity, Size, Price Point!
Weakness: Glare/Reflection, Picture Adjustments,
After researching for about a year, I settled on this model, and so far, it has been a great decision. Took the time to fully go thru various websites to read reviews, and utilized CNET.com for in-depth info and specs. One thing that kept showing up in personal reviews was that people who bought LCD models ended up returning them for a plasma, and they were astonished at the difference in...
Strengths: THX CERTIFICATION, PICTURE QUALITY, AND FEATURES
Weakness: NONE
AFTER RESEARCHING DIFFERENT TV'S IN A 42" SIZE I WAS TORN BETWEEN GOING WITH LCD OR A PLASMA.NATURALLY THE TWO BIGGEST CONTENDERS WERE THE SAMSUNG OR THE PANASONIC.I LOOKED AT BOTH AS FAS FAR AS FEATURES,PICTURE QUALITY,PRICE AND PRODUCT SUPPORT.PANASONIC STOOD OUT ABOVE THE CROUD.WHEN IT COMES TO PICTURE QUALITY, YOU CANT BEAT PANASONICS MARVELOUS DISPLAY.RITCH BLACKS,COLORS AND FEATURES LIKE...
Strengths: Beautiful color, great sound and lots of features.
Weakness: None that I could find.
The viewing angle on this display is unbelievable, my previous LCD display had a very narrow viewing angle, this TV can be viewed almost completely from the side. I was worried about the sound as other reviews didn't seem to rate it well, the TV sound is very good at low setting and will drive you out of the room at a high setting. VieraCast is great and works well, I just hope they add more...
Strengths: Color accuracy, detail, THX preset, Vieracast capabilities, very attractive case
Weakness: Remote could be backlighted. Menus are a little clumsy
I have had both CRT and LCD high def sets. This display is so much better than any of them it really isn't even in the same ballpark. Best TV I've ever seen.
Strengths: Picture quality, functionality
Weakness: Black levels may degrade after about 1 year
I love this television. Even better than I expected. By far the best tv for the price. Outperforms televisions that go for twice the price. I did extensive research before making this purchase. The only things that worried me were its performance in a bright room and its potentially degraded black levels after a while (google it). It looks great even in my brightly lit room in the afternoon. But...
THE GOOD: Superb black-level performance with excellent shadow detail; highly-accurate primary colors and grayscale in THX mode; great color saturation; uses less power than previous 1080p plasmas; VieraCast provides access to select Internet services. THE BAD: Expensive; less-accurate green color decoding and secondary colors of magenta and cyan; limited light output in THX mode; skimpy picture...

Plasma rules
Strengths: Great picture, good menu structure, A+ delivery service.
Weakness: None worth mentioning.
I'm not a fan of LCD yet so when plasma fixed the burn in issues I was ready. This Panasonic plasma out performs LCD in every way. Don't let the detractors tell you plasma is not bright enough or has horrible glare. My old Sony tube TV had horrible glare. What glare you may experience is subdued compared to an old tube TV and is only visible if you are at the reflection angle of the light source....
