Strengths: Light and small. Lens is great for basic purposes, and is super sharp. Big LCD. Customizing functions to have more color control is very easy, and works great. Intuitive operation.
Weakness: Wish it took CF cards instead of SD cards.
Super camera. I "downgraded," so to speak, from a Canon 20D to the Rebel T1i, and I'm overall very happy with my decision. It's lighter and smaller than my old DSLR, and has a wonderful large LCD. I occasionally shoot portraits and small projects for clients, but I didn't feel like I needed a souped up pro body and definitely didn't want to shell out the cash for one. The T1i offers enough bells...

Strengths: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, easy to use
Weakness: n/a
The T1i is a great upgrade from the Canon Rebel XS. It features a HD-Video functionality that works wonders when you want to capture every moment & play it back for some laughs. The screen is clear & is a good size. It's easy to adjust the settings/functions/& toggle between different modes.
Strengths: great LCD screen, excellent picture quality, its smaller and lighter than a full frame pro dslr, many lenses to choose from, HD video modes
Weakness: No 24fps in 1080 HD video mode. No controls for video.
had this for 1 year. For the money it's a good deal. This is a powerful DSLR with many features you will find on a much more expensive pro camera like the canon 5D. All the modes and controls you would expect from canon are available. What I don't like about it: HD video is decent in 720 but 1080 is useless with No exposure control and No 24fps. However, when the T2i comes out in a few months...
THE GOOD: Fast performance; very nice photo quality; HD video capture. THE BAD: Annoying viewfinder; video capture is its only better-than-basic feature. THE BOTTOM LINE: A solid, slightly better-than-basic dSLR, the Canon EOS Rebel T1i delivers photo quality and performance that adequately compensates for most of its annoyances.

Image is Good according to 20 Digital Camera experts. -- "The resulting photos were beautiful, and being able to switch back and forth between still and video modes quickly and easily in a single device was a pleasure."-pcmag.com -- "This is ideal when shooting high-contrast situations that include harsh shadow areas, such as landscape images where the foreground is brightly lit and the...

Canon's 15.1-megapixel Rebel T1i has most of what's great about the EOS 50D in a smaller body, making it the the most advanced Rebel to date. As consumer digital SLR camera choices go, the Canon T1i is a safe bet, with a 3-inch, high-res LCD, an optically image-stabilized zoom lens, a 3.4 frame-per-second frame rate, and built-in HD movie recording capability. The Canon T1i's still-image...

The EOS Rebel T1i is a very capable digital SLR that not only takes great pictures -- it can record HD videos, as well (with limitations). Other nice features on the T1i include a 3-inch, high resolution LCD, a nice mix of automatic and manual controls, and the expandability that one would expect from a digital SLR. With tough competition, the Rebel T1i isn't leaps and bounds ahead of the...

Canon’s EOS Rebel T1i is a feature-packed DSLR which boasts a wide variety of improvements over its predecessor. The semi-pro EOS 50D provides much of the inspiration with the T1i sharing the same resolution and sensitivity (albeit with a slightly different sensor), the same 3in VGA screen and an HDMI port just for starters. The T1i goes beyond the 50D though by becoming Canon’s second DSLR...

Nice. Very nice.
Strengths: LCD display, feel, performance, speed, low light picture quality
Weakness: size
I've only had the camera about a week, but have shot more than 2000 pictures with it - primarily of my daughter's dance performances. This camera was an upgrade from a Fuji S700. Dance performances have got to be one of the toughest shoots - low light, slow shutter speeds, subjects in constant motion, uneven lighting (spot lights, etc.). I shot over 800 pictures on a single battery charge - two...
